Luton Inclusive Youth Steelpan Project - Youth Music

UKCCA is delighted to have secured support from the Youth Music Trailblazer Fund for the delivery of a one-year steelpan music project – Luton Inclusive Youth Steelpan Project.  The project will be used to continue the amazing tradition of steelpan being a core artistic element of UKCCA’s delivery programme, and also part of many carnivals across the UK and the rest of the world.

This project will be delivered with the support of Steel Pan in Motion and schools in Luton.

During the project we will support children, including young people who are neurodiverse or who have special educational needs, to learn how to play steelpans. The youth participants will then be supported to display what they have learned at Luton Carnival 2025, ensuring people from Luton and beyond will be able to witness and enjoy their talents.

We would like to thank Youth Music for their support and belief in the extraordinary value of steelpan education, public expression and display during carnival and at other times throughout the year.

We’ll be sharing more information about this project  – keep checking our website.
